Mittweida University of Applied Sciences is deeply shocked by Hamas' terror against Israel. Thousands of rockets have been fired at Israel; hundreds of people have died. Armed islamic terrorists act cruelly against the people in the south of Israel, including killing hundreds of young people at a music festival.
Our sympathy goes out to the victims and the families who mourn the dead, abducted and missing. We stand in solidarity with our friends and scientific partners in Israel. We share more with the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel's oldest university, than just the name "Technikum" from our founding days.
Professor Uri Sivan, President of the Technion, writes: "It is our sincere hope and fervent prayer that the threat to the citizens of Israel is swiftly and decisively removed. Until then, let us stand united in our compassion, determination, and optimism."
We agree and affirm that hostility towards Israel, hatred of Jews and anti-Semitism have no place at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
