Scholarships

Scholarships are only for gifted ones! With these and other false assumptions about the award we want to clarify because this scares students off.

It is also not true that freshman cannot apply for that. 

Many funding institutions have criteria besides these factors. It is definitely worth it to get an overview about scholarships because there are many different selection factors.

The German-Scholarship gives students from the university of applied sciences Mittweida the chance of 300 Euros per month for at least two semesters. One half is made up by federal founds while the other half is made up from companies, institutions and individuals. Last year, the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida awarded 22 German-Scholarships.

The selection criteria are besides work and non-professional, social engagement responsibility as well as challenges in personal career. Through the current situation the social environment from the applicants will have a higher impact to promote students and strengthen them.

The next funding period of the German-Scholarship starts in the wintersemester 2023/2024. For that reason, the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida has made a own applicant portal. It opens up on the June, 1st 2023 and is accessable for every interested applicant.

Are you interested for that scholarship? Than the following criteria will be important to you to become a scholarship member of the German-Scholarship:

1. Current certificate of enrollment: To apply for the German-Scholarship you need to be enrolled on the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida. You can apply as a freshman or as a student in a higher semester.
2. Outstanding performance: You will have the highest chance for the German-Scholarship with good marks. These are an important aspect for your talent (A-level marks, intermediate results.
3. Social engagement: You engage yourself in a society, in a political party or in church? This will be a additional benefit. If you educate children, take care of relatives, help your parents in their company or you needed to overcome biographical obstacles in the past (for example migration or escape) this will have a positive impact on the award of the German-Scholarship too.
4. For the first time an additional point the assessment of financial emergencies which are related to the COVID-19 virus and the resulting impact. The University of Applied Sciences management decided take up exactly this important point. 

There even more possibilities for you to be promoted. In Germany there are established 13 sponsorships. If the application is successful you can get a basic scholarship. Furthermore all of the scholarship holders get some money for books. Beyond the financial support the sponsorships offer consultations and accompaniment during study, interdisciplinary seminars and meetings such as a network.

Exemplary we want to introduce the study foundation of the German Nation which reached a relative high degree of awareness.

Students of the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida are suggested for their outstanding professional performances from the examination office or a professor. By using the right of proposal, examination offices and professors open up  far reaching possibilities for gifted, youth people: The Scholarship holders of the study  foundation receive for the duration of their study (including master study) not only a financial support in a high of 300 to circa 1.044 Euro per month, they can also take part in a extensive event program. Furthermore the study foundation offers an additional financial support for study related stays abroad. Especially students who are the first members of their family starting a study at a University of Applied Sciences or who go their second educational path on a University of Applied Sciences a scholarship will be seen as an important recognition of their own performances and opens up news perspectives and contacts beyond the frame of their own subject.
