Mittwei-what? The advantages of studying in Saxony
Your time at university is about more than just acquiring knowledge. You will remember this time for the rest of your life. That‘s one more reason to pay attention to both the contents of the programme and the living conditions in the city.
Mittweida is cozier than other university cities. The campus is reminiscent of a small college town somewhere in the Midwest of the United States. Here you can reach everything on foot. While in Munich, Berlin or Hamburg you have to wait for the bus and subway every day, only to sit in it for hours, in Mittweida you can sleep in and have a relaxed breakfast before class.
Studying in Mittweida is more comfortable, more relaxed and more focussed – one of the reasons being that it is affordable. In Munich you have to budget 600 Euro for monthly rent, in Hamburg, Cologne and Berlin over 400 – in Mittweida you can find your room for around 200 Euro. You can spend the money you save on rent on other things or avoid needing a part-time job that might only distract you from your classes.
Don't worry: Your college years are more than just a time to learn. You not only build the foundation for your future and develop your personality, you also make friends for life. In addition to the student club, which has been loved by every generation of students for nice music, good conversation and tasty drinks, there are two festivals on the university campus: House on the Hill and Campusfestival Mittweida. Furthermore, there are numerous private parties as well as our Cosmopolitan Club, a community for German and foreign students that connects fellow students from all nations.
Not in the mood to party? We also have official Esports teams, many sports and fitness classes through our athletic department, a university theater and musical group, a student community, a cinema, an outdoor pool and much more.
